Happy weekend

I had a very mellow, fun, and productive weekend.

Saturday was a lazy day, although I did sew my friend a diaper bag from oilcloth. I didn't take a picture though :( It was leopard print and perfect for my friend. I think she liked it. I also sewed a Los Angeles Clippers headband for myself. Hey, I have to have some gear for the game I am going to!

I made this headband today. Forgive my self portrait, no one was home to take a photo. Oh, and you can forgive my lazy hair day too.

Today is Luke's birthday. I ordered him a Blake Griffin jersey, but it didn't come in yet :( He did like the blanket I made him though. He liked it so much that he took a nap with it.

Tonights dinner

Tofu in a ginger mango sauce and topped with mango slices. Yum! Speaking of food, I made the Addicted to Veggies green bean casserole last week and it was to die for!!! I didn't take pictures though :( I am still day dreaming about that mushroom topping that barely made it into the dish because I was practically eating it by the spoonful!

Luke: The Ultimate Clippers Fan

My husband, Luke, has been a Los Angeles Clippers fan for years. I have been working on a surprise birthday gift for him because he deserves a custom Clippers gift, right?

I have been working on a blanket when he has been at basketball. It's sad, my cat Lebron really thinks he is helping me sew :( I will post a picture of the finished project this weekend.

About Me

My name is Erin and I am a sewing and knitting addict.

How it all began
For Christmas 2009 my husband bought a sewing machine at my request. He was hesitant to buy it because he "wasn't sure if I would use it." Isn't that funny? Now, a few years later, I'm sewing up a storm and he is begging me to make him things. I still feel like a beginner in the sewing world, but feel lucky to "know" and learn from so many talented ladies on the world wide web.

I started knitting in April 2013 because I was told that it would help manage the stress and anxiety I was feeling. Little did I know, it would become one of my favorite things to do! Since then I can't seem to keep the knitting needles out of my hands and love learning new techniques and making things to wear.

Things I do when I'm not sewing or knitting
When I'm not at my machine I enjoy reading books, eating healthy foods or really fattening desserts, obsessing over Old Hollywood stars, learning about the 1920s and 1960s, and walking my dog on the beach in San Luis Obispo County. Even when I'm not sewing I can't help but daydream about my next project and I try and fit in a little fabric shopping when I can ;)

Do you have any questions for me?
